Biomethane Station Data July 2026
11 August 2026 -- ReFuels N.V. (ticker: REFL), a leading European supplier of renewable biomethane (Bio-CNG) for the decarbonisation of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), today published Bio-CNG station data for July 2026.
* CNG Fuels dispensed 5,860 tonnes of Bio-CNG from 16 public-access refuelling stations, up 6% year on year * Average daily dispensed volume was 189 tonnes, up from 178 tonnes in July 2025 * A record daily average of 2,265 vehicles refuelled across the station network, an increase of 9% year on year * Prices for Renewable Transport Fuel Certificates (RTFCs) averaged 21.2 pence and traded at a maximum of 24.3 pence during the month
"The number of trucks filling at the CNG Fuels station network continues to grow at a steady pace, although lower utilisation across customer fleets moderated July volume growth. This reflects continued investment by fleet operators in Bio-CNG trucks, which have materially lower fuel costs and carbon emissions than imported diesel. This is supported by a renewed focus on security of fuel supply, and we expect a growing number of new customer trucks to enter operation progressively," said Philip Fjeld, CEO and co-founder of ReFuels.
Staples Vegetables added new Scania CNG trucks to its fleet this summer, while Abbey Logistics Group and British Sugar deployed one of the UK's first Bio-CNG solutions for bulk food logistics. Waste wood management specialist Seras also introduced the UK's first CNG-powered IVECO truck for walking-floor operations.
Prices for Renewable Transport Fuel Certificates (RTFCs) averaged 21.2 pence in July and traded as high as 24.3 cent during the month, close to the historical average since 2020. The average RTFC price was 25 pence in July 2025. ReFuels has, as previously communicated, secured the expected biomethane requirement for the 2026 obligation year and sold the corresponding RTFCs forward for later delivery at around 25-26 pence, providing margin and profitability visibility. RTFCs are awarded at a rate of 3.8 certificates per kilogram of Bio-CNG dispensed and sold to fuel suppliers with a blending obligation under the UK's Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) scheme.
CNG Fuels supplies biomethane through a growing network of refuelling stations, currently comprising 16 public-access Bio-CNG stations strategically located along major UK trucking routes. Two additional stations in Magor, South Wales, and Swindon, South-West England, are under construction and will expand availability along the high-demand freight corridor connecting London, South Wales and the Midlands.
ReFuels provides monthly operational updates, normally released within ten working days after the end of each month.
