NEXT Biometrics receives additional order for NEXT Basalt, FAP20 sensors from Commlink

Oslo, 9 June 2026 - NEXT Biometrics, a world leader in advanced high-security fingerprint sensor technology, has secured a new order from US based Commlink. Commlink has won a tender with Mobile Network Operator Bangla Link Limited (“Bangla Link”) and has placed an order at a value of 1.2 MNOK for NEXT’s FAP 20 sensors. The order is contingent upon the final work order from Bangla Link and successful integration of NEXT software with the national ID program. These milestones are expected to be completed shortly.

This order is a continuation of the frame-agreement entered into between Commlink and NEXT in May 2024 (see: NEXT expands operations to Bangladesh - NOK 95 million order secured through multi-year agreement - NEXT Biometrics).

The order for NEXT’s FAP20 fingerprint authentication sensors for use in a range of governmental use cases. The order will be fulfilled from existing inventory with first partial deliveries in Q2. The remaining part of the order is expected to be delivered during Q3 2026.

NEXT’s Active Thermal® technology uses both heat from the finger and 3D imaging to authenticate the user. This enables superior authentication speed and liveness detection to combat spoofing attacks, when compared with other fingerprint authentication technologies. The product also minimizes energy consumption and delivers exceptional performance in varying light and environmental conditions.
