SpareBank 1 SMN: Thomas Melum will assume the position of Chief Executive Officer of EiendomsMegler 1 Midt-Norge with effect from 1 January 2027.
The Board of Directors of EiendomsMegler 1 Midt-Norge has appointed Thomas Melum (50) as the company's new Chief Executive Officer. He will take up the position on 1 January 2027. In his new role, he will join the Group Management Team of SpareBank 1 SMN.
The appointment is part of a planned generational transition at EiendomsMegler 1 Midt-Norge. Thomas will succeed Kjetil Reinsberg, who will remain Chief Executive Officer until the handover.
"The strong interest in the position demonstrates EiendomsMegler 1 Midt-Norge's standing in the market. I am particularly proud that we have recruited from within our own ranks, amid strong competition from many highly qualified applicants. This shows that SpareBank 1 SMN has a strong internal labour market and that it is possible to work your way up to the very top of the Group," says Jan-Frode Janson, Chair of the Board of EiendomsMegler 1 Midt-Norge.
Thomas joined the company as an estate agent in 2002 and has since held a range of roles. He has been Head of Sales since 2021. Recruiting from within helps ensure continuity and demonstrates that there are opportunities to develop and take on new roles within the Group.
"I am taking over from a legend and have big shoes to fill, but together with my skilled colleagues at EiendomsMegler Midt-Norge, we will build on what is already an excellent foundation. Kjetil and I are two different people, so there will certainly be differences in our leadership. However, I have had a thorough grounding during almost 25 years with the company, so I can promise that we will pursue the position of market leader and maintain our ambition to be the most attractive and most profitable choice for customers, employees and owners," says Thomas Melum.
