Itera to facilitate strategic partnership for Ukraine's reconstruction
Oslo, 29 June 2026: Itera ASA ("Itera") announces that Nordic Smart House AS and SM Invest and Construction B.V. have signed a Letter of Intent to establish a joint venture in Ukraine. Itera will serve as strategic advisor and coordinator for the initiative.
The planned joint venture will develop scalable, modular construction capacity to deliver housing and critical social infrastructure, including schools and kindergartens, as part of Ukraine's reconstruction efforts. For Itera, the initiative is strategically aligned with the company's focus on international advisory services and complex industrial projects. The engagement may create future commercial opportunities within business development, project structuring, and digital support services.
"The reconstruction of Ukraine requires scalable solutions and strong partnerships. Itera contributes advisory expertise and project structuring capabilities to help enable initiatives where we can create long-term value together with our partners," said Jon Erik Høgberg, COO of Itera.
According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), more than two million homes in Ukraine have been damaged or destroyed as a result of the war, underscoring the need for efficient and sustainable solutions at scale. Over the next six months, the parties will continue to develop the business model and operational structure of the venture, including opportunities for local production.
