Update regarding court ruling and payment related to the Sotra Link project
Multiconsult ASA (Oslo: MULTI) refers to the stock exchange announcement published on 26 March 2026 regarding the court ruling related to the legal dispute concerning the Sotra Link project.
Following the judgment of 26 March 2026, and the said stock exchange announcement on the same date, the following events have today incurred:
Payment of awarded remuneration: Sotra Link Construction JV ANS has paid and has confirmed that it will not appeal the part of the judgement saying that Sotra Link Construction JV ANS shall pay Multiconsult Norge AS the claimed remuneration for performed services, including VAT, plus statutory default interest thereon. This payment amounts to approximately:
· NOK 80.8 million related to unpaid remuneration for performed services (including VAT), and · approximately NOK 25-26 million in accrued statutory default interest calculated up to the expected payment date.
Payment of parts of awarded legal and internal costs:
Sotra Link Construction JV ANS has further paid 50 % of the awarded legal and internal costs. This payment amounts to approximately:
· NOK 15.7 million, plus statutory default interest from 9 April 2026 until payment.
These payments amount to a total payment of approximately NOK 123 million.
Accounting and financial impact for Multiconsult: The remuneration for performed services awarded by the District Court has been recognised in the group's statement of financial position as part of outstanding trade receivables. Payment and final settlement of this amount is therefore expected to have a positive cash flow effect.
Interest received on the delayed payment of the remuneration will have a positive effect on the group's earnings and cash flow.
As Sotra Link Construction JV ANS is expected to appeal the entire awarded claim for legal and internal costs (NOK 31.4 million), Multiconsult will consider how to manage the received amount of approximately NOK 15.7 million in the financial statements, after having received and reviewed the appeal from Sotra Link Construction JV ANS.
Other claims and counterclaims than Multiconsult Norge AS' claim for remuneration: Multiconsult Norge AS does presently not know whether Sotra Link Construction JV ANS will appeal any of the other parts of the judgement of 26 March 2026. The statutory time limit for Sotra Link Construction JV ANS' appeal, expires during the first week of May 2026.
Summary:
Overall, these developments are expected to have a positive liquidity impact and, to a more limited extent, an earnings effect for the group, primarily driven by cash inflows related to settlement of recognised receivables and accrued interest, as well as the accounting treatment of received legal and internal cost reimbursements.
