Kongsberg Maritime Q1 2026: Solid operations and good order intake
Kongsberg Maritime ASA (OSE: KMAR) today announced its first quarterly results as an independent listed company, following its separation from KONGSBERG on 23 April 2026.
The company delivered solid performance in the first quarter of 2026, supported by strong newbuild activity, a robust order backlog, and continued demand for energy and cost-efficient maritime solutions.
"This quarter marks an important milestone for Kongsberg Maritime as we present our first standalone results. Despite a more uncertain global environment, we delivered solid performance supported by strong newbuild activity and a robust backlog. We remain confident in our strategy and our ability to create long-term value," said CEO Lisa Edvardsen Haugan.
Key financial highlights
* Order backlog: MNOK 27,851 * Revenues: MNOK 6,649 * EBITDA: MNOK 893 * EBITDA margin: 13.4% * Order intake: MNOK 7,502 * Book-to-bill: 1.13
Operational highlights Kongsberg Maritime reported strong momentum in its newbuild business, with revenues from newbuild deliveries increasing by approximately 20% compared to Q1 2025. Order intake for newbuilds remained strong, with a book-to-bill ratio of 1.26 in the quarter. The offshore segment was the primary driver of order intake, supported by tug and cargo vessel demand.
Deliveries to the aftermarket decreased in the first quarter. This part of the business is impacted by shorter term cycles and tend to react rapidly when framework conditions are changing. The company's diversified exposure across vessel segments continues to provide resilience against cyclical fluctuations.
"The underlying drivers both in the aftermarket and newbuild market remain intact and we see strong demand in the medium to long term perspective", said Edvardsen Haugan.
"I would like to take this opportunity to extend my sincere thanks to our employees and partners for their extraordinary efforts in bringing Kongsberg Maritime to the stock exchange in just six months. This achievement reflects the same dedication, competence, and teamwork that have secured a leading position in our markets year after year", Edvardsen Haugan added.
