Tekna Holding ASA: Federal Court of Appeal upholds trial judgment in key patent dispute in Canada
Reference is made to Tekna’s 24Q3 INTERIM REPORT 2024 where the Company announced the notice of appeal it received concerning the major patent litigation case in Canada against AP&C, a subsidiary of GE Aerospace. In a decision issued on January 22, 2026 (reference 2026 FCA 13), the Federal Court of Appeal unanimously dismissed the appeal filed by AP&C with costs payable to Tekna.
A separate appeal filed by AP&C of a related decision of the Federal Court (reference 2024 FC 1954) awarding approximately $2.9M CAD in legal costs to Tekna is still pending.
