Awarded new EPRD contract in the North Sea

AF Gruppen has, through its subsidiary AF Offshore Decom and in a consortium with Heerema Marine Contractors (HMC), been awarded a contract for the engineering, preparation, removal & disposal (EPRD) of a North Sea platform on the UK Continental Shelf. This marks the second contract awarded to the consortium within a short timeframe.

The scope of work includes removal of the topside facilities, weighing approximately 38,500 tonnes.

The offshore platform surveys will commence immediately, followed by detailed engineering and offshore preparatory works to be performed within the next six years.

The topsides will be removed in a multi-year removal campaign by HMC’s vessels and transported to AF Environmental Base Vats for onshore dismantling, recycling & disposal within the next eight years.
