Desert Control Announces Extraordinary General Meeting to Approve Proposed Appointments of New Board Members

11. February 2026 kl. 07:18

Sandnes, Norway, 11 February 2026 - Desert Control (OSE: DSRT), a leader in soil and water conservation technology, today announces an extraordinary general meeting to approve the proposed appointments of Juli Jessen and Jacob Christfort to its Board of Directors. These appointments would bring significant expertise in global agriculture markets, corporate strategy, and innovation to support Desert Control's mission and future growth. If approved, these appointments would fulfill our ambition to add US candidates with local market insights.

Juli Jessen, CEO of the Gowan Group - a major agricultural input company with operations in 19 countries, holds an MBA from Stanford Business School and a dual bachelor's degree in engineering from Stanford University and Claremont McKenna College. After working at the US Environmental Protection Agency, she joined the Gowan Group in 1986. During her tenure, she has progressed through roles of increased responsibility in engineering, regulatory, sales, marketing, and general management. She has held the CEO position since 2004 while the company has quadrupled in size. She has served on the boards of industry trade associations including CropLife America, the Executive Council of AmCham EU, Western Crop Protection Association, Southern Crop Protection Association, and Western Growers Association. Ms. Jessen's extensive experience in agricultural markets and her belief in using sound science to support technology and innovation in agriculture will be pivotal in shaping Desert Control's corporate strategy.

Jacob Christfort, President and CEO of Ranch Systems - an agriculture-focused IoT company he founded in 2005, holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and both bachelor of science and masters of science degrees in computer science from the University of Copenhagen. Early in his career, he co-founded and served as Chief Technology Officer of Christfort Data, a Danish startup focused on industrial PDAs and field force automation software, with primary applications in agriculture and forestry. He became a consultant at McKinsey and then held a series of senior technology and executive roles over nearly decade at Oracle Corporation. In 2001, he founded Christfort Ranch, a 1,500-acre property in California where the operational challenges of remotely and reliably managing the ranch's water and irrigation infrastructure directly inspired much of the early technology developed at Ranch Systems. Under his leadership, Ranch Systems has become an established industry leader, delivering advanced wireless sensing, data, and automation solutions for agricultural customers globally. Mr. Christfort's proven track record in managing growth companies will be valuable as Desert Control continues its growth journey.

Lars Eismark, Chair of Desert Control, commented, "The additions of these two distinguished board members would add critical expertise that would drive our growth and enhance long-term shareholder value. Juli and Jacob's combined experience in global agriculture markets, corporate strategy, and innovation would be instrumental in unlocking Desert Control's future potential."
